Climate Analysis for Poolbeg
The IPCC has stated that,
Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global average sea level.
The IPCC has also concluded that,
Most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations.
The Programme for Government states that,
The Government will set a target for this administration of a reduction of 3% per year on average in our greenhouse gas emissions.
However Dublin City Council is planning to build an incinerator which, by itself, will increase by 1% the total greenhouse gas emissions in Ireland.
We believe that this incinerator should not be permitted.
